Flamingos!

A few nights ago I could not sleep much because my youngest child was sick and woke up every half an hour, then I started to browse the web and finished to indulge myself with the purchase of something that I have been thinking of for some time. A little treat for myself that makes me really happy. Now I am looking forward to receive it:

Flamingos

I am talking about Flamingos ivory cotton fabric lawn by Rifle Paper Co.

On the website it is described as “Our tropical-inspired Flamingos fabric in ivory features vibrant flamingos on a lightweight, soft cotton lawn fabric that’s perfect for creating blouses, dresses, quilts and more.”

I bought 1,5 meters and I plan to use it to sew a shirt or a blouse for spring and summer. I would like to wear it with black pants or a skirt and even with jeans, so I would like to make a garment that is suitable for both a more formal attire as well as casual, depending on how it is paired. I would like to make a light top maybe with very short sleeves so that I can wear it at the office. Do I want my cake and eat it too? Of course.

The matter is that the sewing process takes a lot of time, and as a full time worker I do not have so much, so I had better to optimize my time, by realizing versatile clothes that can be used on different occasions. On the other hand, I think I will love this top so much that I will want to wear it every day!
